What to Expect When You Visit?

pic

First Things First: We know what it's like when you visit a new place. So we'll make sure that the first face you see when you approach the door will have a smile on it! You will get a personal welcome, and someone will be nearby to help with any practical questions you may have.

Service Content: The service itself starts at 11.15am with a time of singing, giving God our praise and worship, led by the DCF Band. We include traditional hymns at times, but mostly our worship is made up of contemporary songs, which can be either upbeat or reflective.

We then have announcements, and perhaps a further song, personal story, short drama or feature. During this time we also take an offering as part of our worship, but that is specifically for the church regulars only; we do not expect our guests to contribute - we want to give you something, not the other way around!

And after all that we have the sermon message. The children (those aged 11 or younger) will leave just before the sermon message starts, to enjoy their own age specific input.

We are usually all done by 12.45, when we relax with tea, coffee or soft drinks.

Dress Code: You can wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. We're more concerned with addressing your real needs than with what you wear. So, dress casually (like many of us do) and you'll fit right in. If it helps, see the photos section

Children: We love children, and encourage them to stay in the main service until the sermon message starts. If younger ones or tiny tots start to make 'grizzly noise', or are clearly becoming unhappy, parents can avoid any stress by taking them to an adjoining area.

As mentioned already, at the time the sermon message starts, those aged 11 or younger move out to have their own activities. If they'd rather stay in the main service, then that's fine too.

Other Services? At various other we hold prayer meetings, discipleship groups, Alpha groups, and social events. Please email for further details, or see our weekly Newsletter, or go to the our Events Page
