What We Stand For
What we stand for can be summarised by three things:
- Our Associations
- Our Vision Statement
- Our Values
1) Our Associations
We are an ECI Church, which means we are linked with the Elim
family of churches. In particular, we have very close links, and
work in partnership with, the City Temple, Cardiff.
We are also members of the Evangelical Alliance. Their Basis of Faith (to which we subscribe) can be found here.
2) Our Vision Statement
Our vision is to communicate Gods love, both through words
and practical acts of kindness and generosity, so that those
who do not know God will become fully committed followers
of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- By being a growing, bible believing, Spirit led church.
- By serving the people of Danescourt and north west Cardiff.
- By encouraging each other, and exalting God together.
3) Our Values
Five Things We Are Passionate About
- Whatever God says, goes.
- We are to live for Gods glory.
- We are to love others authentically.
- God loves to minister through everyone in His church.
- The whole world needs Jesus.
1. Whatever God says, goes
The Bible is Gods word and the authority for our lives, both individually
and as a church.
2. We are to live for Gods glory
- We are committed to personal discipleship, based on joyful
commitment to prayer, bible reading, and listening to the Holy
Spirit, maturing day by day, both in attitudes and behaviour.
- We value our times of worship together as opportunities for
deeper intimacy with God, and expressions of exuberant praise.
3. We are to love others authentically
Every individual is to be loved, honoured and welcomed, whatever
their position in society, background, past history, age or any
other difference.
- We believe in developing relationships and growing friendships,
both with each other and with those new to us.
- We value church unity, and actions of love, encouragement and
support for each other.
- We want to be real, open and authentic in our personal interactions,
public ministries and church communication (as opposed to giving
outward shows of spirituality or forms of worship).
4. God loves to minister through everyone in His church
- The use of all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are desired, through
the 'priesthood of all believers'.
- In all that we do, we want to do all things well, to bring glory
to God and not to ourselves. This includes doing all things in
peace, joy and harmony, not just a positive outcome.
5.The whole world needs Jesus.
We believe in showing our love and compassion (both through evangelism
and practical acts of kindness and generosity) to the communities
in which we live, and the wider world beyond.
